Job Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, ensuring compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. This role manages staff, inventory, operational procedures, financial performance, and vendor relationships to ensure the dispensary operates efficiently, safely, and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dispensary operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and exceptional customer experiences.
- Supervise, coach, and develop department managers and dispensary staff.
- Create employee schedules and manage labor costs to meet business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all state, local, and company cannabis regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate inventory audits, and oversee product ordering and receiving.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using seed-to-sale tracking systems.
- Analyze sales, labor, and operational reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure security protocols are followed, including cash handling and product storage.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Collaborate with vendors to maintain adequate product availability and negotiate purchasing opportunities.
- Oversee store merchandising and product presentation.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate performance metrics to ownership or executive leadership.
Qualifictions
- 3–5 years of retail management or operations management experience preferred
- Previous cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing inventory control and POS systems.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires a proactive leader who can balance regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, employee development, and exceptional customer service while supporting the dispensary's overall growth and success.
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
