Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant or Experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support general and pediatric dentistry procedures, assist with chairside activities, and ensure smooth dental procedures. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality care while maintaining a safe, efficient, and friendly atmosphere for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols such as aseptic technique.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and medical documentation standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems. We currently use Softdent to ensuring accurate medical history documentation and medical coding.
- Measure vital signs and assess patient anatomy knowledge to support safe treatment planning and execution.
- Support dental reception duties when needed by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining smooth patient flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in accordance with infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in chairside assisting across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems including Softdent, Open
- dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately.
- Certification in X-ray safety; additional certifications in infection control or medical coding are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
