Events & Wedding Manager
Department: Sales & Catering
Reports To: Senior Sales & Catering Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt (Salary)
Schedule: Minimum 45+ hours weekly. Nights, weekends and holidays required based upon business needs.
Equipment: Company-issued laptop and cell phone
Position Purpose
The Events & Wedding Manager provides leadership for the planning, coordination and execution of all weddings, festivals, catering functions, resort events and special experiences at Mountain Lake. The position oversees a rolling three-year event calendar and ensures flawless execution while creating memorable guest experiences and maximizing resort revenue.
Essential Functions
· Plan and execute weddings, festivals, social events and catering functions.
· Manage event timelines from contract turnover through completion.
· Conduct tastings, planning meetings and site inspections.
· Maintain detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
· Lead weekly BEO meetings with operational leaders.
· Perform quality inspections before and during every event.
· Coordinate vendors and internal departments.
· Maintain event files and planning calendars.
Wedding & Event Responsibilities
Coordinate ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, farewell brunches and specialty events. Ensure décor, entertainment, transportation, guestrooms, amenities and timelines are properly executed.
Festival & Signature Event Planning
Lead planning for Mountain Lake festivals, seasonal programming, holiday celebrations, Dirty Dancing weekends, anniversary events and other resort activations while collaborating with marketing and operations.
Banquet Event Order (BEO) Management
Prepare, update and distribute all BEOs. Lead weekly BEO meetings and ensure all departments understand event timing, menus, setups, staffing and guest expectations.
Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration
Works closely with the Senior Sales & Catering Manager, Marketing Manager, Communications & Social Media Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Resort Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, Spa, Recreation & Activities, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure successful execution.
Revenue Generation & Upselling Expectations
Support revenue growth through enhancements, premium menu selections, spa experiences, recreation activities, lodging upgrades and repeat business opportunities while promoting future bookings.

Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise Event Coordinators, Wedding Coordinators, Seasonal Event Staff and contracted vendors while directing banquet execution and event setup teams during assigned functions.
Physical Demands
Standing and walking for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; indoor work with outdoor event responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment
Professional resort environment requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays while supporting multiple venues across the property.
