Wausau Tile is seeking a Shipping – Yard & Loading team member. This position is responsible for material staging, loading products for shipment, and assisting with a variety of yard and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team while operating forklifts, loaders, and other equipment.
Material Staging:
Retrieve materials from indoor or outdoor inventory using forklifts or loaders.
Stage materials in production areas according to weekly schedules and pour requirements.
Handle bulk materials (aggregates, liquids, oversized items) appropriately.
Communicate with production, planning, and management to address material needs.
Product Loading & Receiving:
Load finished products onto flatbed trailers, containers, and cube vans.
Use forklifts, hoists, and team lifting techniques for heavy items.
Secure products to prevent damage during transport.
Assist with receiving tasks as needed.
Yard & Inventory Management:
Maintain aggregate and raw material inventory levels using the MES system.
Ensure proper storage and rotation of materials, including winter aggregate storage.
Order materials proactively based on production needs and visual checks.
Waste Handling & Site Maintenance:
Load dump trucks with waste materials such as broken tile, sample returns, and mixer washouts.
Perform yard maintenance tasks such as grading, filling holes, and plowing snow.
Bag aggregate for upcoming jobs and maintain cleanliness in the yard.
General Support:
Perform routine maintenance checks (oil, grease, cleanliness) on material handling equipment.
Assist with other departments as workload shifts.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and support housekeeping duties.
