Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bench Jeweler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and customizing jewelry pieces with precision and craftsmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of jewelry fabrication techniques, metalworking, and the use of specialized tools. The Bench Jeweler will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and aesthetic excellence of our jewelry offerings, supporting our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Fabricate custom jewelry pieces according to detailed specifications and technical drawings
- Repair and restore damaged or worn jewelry using appropriate techniques
- Perform high-quality jewelry repairs, including sizing, soldering, stone setting, and restoration of antique pieces
- Handle and set diamonds and colored gemstones with precision and care
- Evaluate stones and settings to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality
- Assist in selecting appropriate mountings for loose stones
- Utilize laser welding equipment with a high level of proficiency
- Work with a torch and various metals, including gold, platinum, and silver
- Execute precise hand engraving using traditional tools
- Communicate clearly regarding job status, timelines, and potential issues
- Assemble and fabricate custom and semi-custom jewelry pieces
Requirements
- Proven experience in jewelry repair and restore experience.
- Must have strong laser welding experience
- Good english communication experience
- Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills necessary for precise measurements
- Familiarity with industry safety standards including OSHA guidelines
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Hand engraving experience using traditional tools
- GIA experience is a plus but not required
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
