Seasonal Position: Winter Snow & Ice Management
Position Summary
Fullerton Grounds Maintenance is seeking experienced, reliable Independent Snow Removal Subcontractors to provide snow plowing and ice management services during the winter season. Contractors must supply their own equipment, maintain all required insurance, and be available to respond promptly to snow and ice events throughout the season.
Responsibilities
- Perform snow plowing, snow removal, and/or salting services at commercial and residential properties.
- Respond promptly to snow and ice events, including overnight, weekend, and holiday storms.
- Complete assigned routes efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Follow site maps, property-specific instructions, and safety procedures.
- Report completed work and communicate any property damage, hazards, or service issues immediately.
- Take before-and-after photos when required.
- Maintain communication with dispatch throughout snow events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial snow removal experience preferred.
- Own and maintain reliable snow removal equipment (truck with plow, skid steer, loader, tractor, sidewalk equipment, salter, etc., depending on the services provided).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work long hours during winter weather events.
- Reliable cell phone with text and email capability.
- Ability to safely operate equipment in varying weather and site conditions.
Insurance Requirements
Subcontractors must provide proof of current insurance before beginning work, including:
- Commercial General Liability Insurance
- Commercial Automobile Liability Insurance (if operating vehicles)
- Workers' Compensation Insurance (or a valid Workers' Compensation exemption, where permitted by law)
- Snow Removal Operations must be specifically covered under the policy.
- Fullerton Grounds Maintenance must be listed as an Additional Insured when requested.
- Certificates of Insurance (COIs) must remain current throughout the contract period.
Compensation
- Competitive per-push, hourly, seasonal, or event-based rates (depending on equipment and scope of work).
- Payment terms outlined in the Independent Subcontractor Agreement.
- Opportunities for additional work during the landscaping season may be available.
Requirements
- Must operate as an independent business.
- Must provide all equipment, fuel, maintenance, and labor.
- Must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Must sign Fullerton Grounds Maintenance's Independent Subcontractor Agreement before performing any work.
