Job Title: Lead Teacher
Location: Rosedale, MD
Pay Rate: $21–$27/hour (based on experience and credentials)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (includes 1-hour lunch)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to guide and nurture children in an early learning environment. The ideal candidate will effectively implement curriculum, track student progress, and engage children in meaningful interactions. This role requires creating and delivering lessons that reflect students’ cultures, personal interests, and individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage challenging behaviors appropriately in the classroom.
- Implement and execute the curriculum effectively.
- Track and assess student progress using both informal and formal evaluations.
- Engage students in meaningful conversations to foster a positive learning environment.
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate questioning, problem-solving, and learning through play, allowing children to explore and make choices in their projects.
- Document students’ strengths and weaknesses and set realistic SMART goals for each child.
- Communicate regularly with administrators and collaborate with team members.
Qualifications:
- 45-Hours in Child Development, 45-Hours in Preschool, 45-Hours in School-Age OR an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development.
- Basic Health & Safety certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an approved childcare center.
- Background check required.
