Position Summary-
The Registered Nurse provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care while practicing at the highest level of licensure. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements plans of care, collaborates with providers and multidisciplinary team members, and advocates for patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities-
- Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with state regulations and established standards.
- Administer treatments and medications as ordered and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation.
- Serve as a patient advocate and provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
- Delegate appropriate responsibilities based on team members' skills and competencies.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding health needs and treatment plans.
- Support the orientation and development of new staff and team members.
- Participate in quality improvement and initiatives designed to promote clinical excellence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant patient care environment.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, regulatory, and evidence-based practice standards.
Requirements-
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required prior to start date.
- BSN preferred.
- Previous RN experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft applications preferred.
Physical & Working Conditions-
This position requires frequent movement throughout the healthcare environment and the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, and lift or move patients and objects as needed. The role involves frequent use of medical and office equipment, continuous communication with patients and healthcare team members, and exposure to typical healthcare workplace hazards, including bloodborne pathogens, contagious diseases, and chemical exposure.
Candidates must be able to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
