Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeymen Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both residential and commercial electrical work, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role requires proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) while ensuring safety standards are met on construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing equipment including ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems.
- Ensure compliance with NEC regulations during all electrical installations and repairs.
- Perform low voltage and high voltage wiring tasks as required.
- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure project completion.
- Conduct renovation work that involves electrical installations or modifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician in both industrial and commercial settings is essential.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment related to electrical work.
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics to execute electrical installations accurately.
- Background in construction site work is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of frame carpentry and maintenance person skills will be considered an asset.
