Duties

- Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables in outdoor and indoor settings following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to verify signal integrity and troubleshoot network issues promptly.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute cabling and fiber splicing tasks.
- Conduct telecommunications outside plant operations, including cable pulling, trenching, and conduit installation in compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
- Perform maintenance on fiber optic systems, including cleaning connectors, inspecting cables for damage, and performing repairs as needed.
- Support telecommunications testing procedures for network performance, ensuring optimal operation of fiber optic networks and related infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service roles involving outdoor work environments with fiber optic systems installation or maintenance.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, or other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and telecommunications testing equipment for troubleshooting and splicing.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, telecommunications cable splicing techniques, and network infrastructure installation standards.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints related to fiber optics and telecommunications networks.
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards for outdoor electrical work.
- Climbing skills for outdoor installations combined with physical fitness for outdoor work environments.
- Construction experience or engineering troubleshooting skills are highly desirable.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting support abilities for fiber optic networks and IT infrastructure projects.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred; ability to operate power tools safely is essential.

Pay: $1,200.00 - $2,000.00 per week
