Personal Trainer (1099/Independent Contractor and/or a full time position)
Location: Levite Jewish Community Center (LJCC) – Birmingham, AL
Compensation: Earn 40%+ of session fees based on experience and performance. (Wage for full time is a different pay structure.)
The Levite Jewish Community Center is seeking motivated, professional, and
community-oriented Personal Trainers to join our fitness and wellness team.
We are looking for trainers who are passionate about helping individuals improve their health, fitness, confidence, and overall quality of life through safe, effective, and personalized training programs.
Job Type: Part-Time
Compensation: Personal Trainers earn commission-based compensation ranging from 40%–60% per training session, based on experience, certifications, qualifications,
Shift & Schedule:
● Flexible scheduling
● Morning, evening, and weekend availability preferred
Work Location: On-site at the Levite Jewish Community Center
Work Environment: Professional, welcoming, and community-focused fitness environment serving members of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels.
Responsibilities Include:
● Conducting one-on-one and small group personal training sessions
● Designing individualized exercise programs based on client goals and abilities
● Providing safe instruction on exercise technique and equipment usage
● Building strong professional relationships with clients and members
● Assisting with member fitness orientations and wellness initiatives
● Maintaining accurate client records and scheduling
● Supporting a positive and motivating fitness environment
Qualifications:
· Current nationally accredited personal training certification required through one or more
· of the following organizations:
o National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
o American Council on Exercise (ACE)
o National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
o American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
o National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT)
o International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA)
· Current CPR/AED certification required
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work with diverse populations and varying fitness levels
● Previous personal training experience preferred, but motivated new trainers are
encouraged to apply
Preferred Skills & Experience:
● Experience with strength training, functional fitness, corrective exercise, or active aging
populations
● Small group training experience
● Ability to build and retain client relationships
● Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong work ethic
