Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Swiss Machinist with Citizen setup experience who can independently set up, troubleshoot, and optimize Citizen Swiss machines.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in building efficient processes, creating stable unattended production, and contributing to the overall success of the company—not just running a machine.
You'll play a key role in helping us scale our Swiss department while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect.
What Success Looks Like1. Build Reliable Unattended Production
- Set up Citizen Swiss machines to run efficiently and consistently.
- Optimize programs, tooling, and processes to maximize spindle uptime.
- Reduce downtime, scrap, and operator intervention.
- Continuously improve cycle times and process stability.
2. Maintain an Organized and Efficient Work Area
- Keep machines, tooling, and workspaces clean and organized.
- Maintain setup documentation and process consistency.
- Identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies.
- Contribute to a culture of professionalism and accountability.
3. Contribute to Company Growth and Success
- Support teammates and share knowledge.
- Help solve production challenges.
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Take ownership of results and think beyond your machine.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Citizen Swiss CNC machines.
- Select tooling, establish offsets, and prove out jobs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
- Work closely with programmers, operators, and leadership.
- Maintain AS9100 quality standards and documentation requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and work areas.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience setting up Citizen Swiss machines.
- Ability to independently complete setups from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of Swiss machining principles.
- Experience reading blueprints and GD&T.
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming or editing Swiss CNC programs.
- Experience with bar feeders and automated production.
- Aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, or high-precision manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with ProShop ERP.
- Experience working in an AS9100 environment.
