Role Overview
The Frozen Department supports the Operations Manager and Customer Experience Lead across operational and administrative functions, with primary ownership of the frozen department and additional responsibilities spanning delivery logistics and MNFood.Club vendor payout reporting.
This role is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the freezer department, ensuring efficient execution of inventory management, receiving, restocking, and vendor processes.
Key Responsibilities
Freezer Operations & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate floor and backstock inventory through timely transfers and stock adjustments to ensure consistency and traceability
- Manage accurate barcodes, lot information, and stock levels to prevent mispicks and inventory discrepancies
- Conduct regular cycle counts and escalate significant stock variances
- Enforce FIFO practices across all frozen product
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials
Receiving
- Oversee receiving processes to ensure inventory accuracy, including:
- Verifying case and unit counts
- Confirming SKUs are within specification
- Determining appropriate variants for out-of-spec products
- Create and receive accurate purchase orders
- Prepare storage space in advance of incoming product
Team & Warehouse Collaboration
- Order picking and morning collation
- Work collaboratively with the MNFood.Club warehouse team to ensure smooth cross-departmental operations
- Support cross-functional tasks as needed to maintain overall warehouse efficiency
Customer Experience Support
- Collaborate with the Buyer and Marketing team on slow-moving SKUs and potential SKU gaps to support promotional planning and purchasing decisions
- Create monthly rotating meal plans
Role Growth and Expansion
Delivery Logistics
- Create delivery routes in a timely manner
- Assign vans, drivers, and collators to routes
- Communicate relevant delivery information to the team, including weather updates, process changes, and pickup notifications
MNFood.Club
- Manage Morningstar orders
- Process vendor invoices and coordinate payouts
- Manage PO’s, receiving, storage, vendor communication for established MNFoodclub vendors whose products are stored/picked from the freezer
- Manage kitchen renter and MNFood.Club vendor inventory and space allocation
Customer Experience Support
- Collaborate with the Buyer and Marketing team on slow-moving SKUs and potential SKU gaps to support promotional planning and purchasing decisions
- Create monthly rotating meal plans
- Update BigCommerce product listings when SKU variants or bundles change
Category Management/Vendor Management
- Facilitate farmer and processor communication
- Cut sheets, Product projections, 3rd party meat vendor ordering and pricing
- Support receiving prep and new product creation in BigCommerce and Finale
- Assist with kitchen product and space management
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely processor and farmer payments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Must be comfortable working in cold environments (cooler and freezer)
· Comfort (or ability to learn) with computers, handheld scanners, excel and inventory management software
· Previous experience in warehouse and/or fulfillment is required
· Able to consistently lift up to 60 lbs
· Capable of operating an electric pallet jack, forklift, stand-up and sit-down to load, unload delivery trucks and pick orders in warehouse
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must
· Great attention to detail, problem solving, and multitasking is required
· Must be able to independently prioritize, organize, and have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
· Interest/previous experience in regenerative agriculture space
· Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Expected Hours: No more than 40 per week
