Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Site Superintendent to oversee and execute custom residential construction projects from start to finish.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead field operations, coordinate trade partners, maintain project quality and schedule, and perform carpentry work as needed. You will work closely with homeowners, architects, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, leading people, and building exceptional homes.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on custom homes and residential remodels
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and project schedules
- Supervise and mentor carpenters and laborers
- Plan daily work activities and ensure crews have the tools, materials, and information needed for success
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform hands-on carpentry from rough framing through high-end finish work
- Execute accurate layout, framing, exterior envelope, window and door installation, and finish carpentry
- Work with advanced structural systems, including steel moment frames
- Maintain project quality, jobsite organization, safety, and security
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively
- Communicate effectively with homeowners, architects, engineers, project managers, and trade partners
- Track daily progress, hours, and project documentation using construction management software
Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential construction experience
- Proven experience leading custom home or high-end remodeling projects
- Strong carpentry skills from framing through finish work
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and building codes
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Resourceful problem solver with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Personal hand and power tools appropriate for the position
- Smartphone for company software use
- Ability to lift 75 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical jobsite tasks
- Commitment to maintaining a drug- and smoke-free workplace
Compensation & Benefits
- $35+ per hour DOE
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
