The Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of different components or parts into a finished SCBA product according to specifications, work instructions, and prints/drawings.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assemble parts into final products using drawings and processes.
- Set up, arrange and operate equipment per the specifications and instructions from the Production Supervisor
- Utilize hand and power tools to assemble and test equipment in conformance with the highest quality standards for life safety-critical equipment.
- Assess and mitigate risks to quality, cost, and delivery.
- Assure that product meets all deliverable and quality objectives.
- Test and adjustment of equipment to meet or exceed required specifications.
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products.
Qualifications
- Previous work experience in manufacturing assembly
- Thorough understanding and hands-on production experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems preferred.
- Demonstrated and verifiable mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to follow work instructions, diagrams, and part drawings to complete assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Minimum high school diploma required, technology training desired.
- Close attention to detail
- Punctual with a high attendance rate
- Ability to follow directions.
- A team player who works well with others in a fast-paced environment
Working conditions
Generally working indoors on day shift Monday-Thursday, 05:30 am – 4:00 pm. Must function well and cooperate with others as part of a team. Life safety-critical products. Attention to detail and quality is mandatory.
Physical requirements
Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds. Bending, walking, and working in all positions are required. Work on the concrete floor in a conditioned or unconditioned environment on an extended schedule when necessary. May require the use of head, eye, hand, and/or respiratory protection.
