Job Description:
Holy Spirit Retirement Home is seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our care team. RNs are key drivers of clinical excellence, partnering with leadership to deliver high-quality, resident-centered care. The ideal candidate brings strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and a heart for serving seniors. Experience in long-term care or assisted living is highly valued.
All job offers are contingent upon passing a background check. If hired, orientation and onboarding will include a multi-day process involving training, physical testing, and department tours. The schedule for this process is Tue-Thurs 9:00am-2:00pm. Please anticipate this when accepting the job offer.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals, and oversee residents’ overall health status.
- Provide immediate response in emergencies, including CPR and coordination with emergency personnel.
- Supervise, mentor, and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and care staff to ensure consistent standards of care.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and resident condition changes.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapy teams, and other healthcare providers.
- Deliver compassionate palliative and end-of-life care.
- Support resident families through clear communication and care planning.
- Perform additional duties assigned by nursing leadership.
Requirements:
- Active Iowa RN license or active multistate compact RN license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Strong clinical and assessment skills with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift, move, and assist residents with mobility needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Long-term care or assisted living experience.
- Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) or OnShift.
- Ability to engage residents in social and meaningful activities.
- Positive, team-focused attitude.
Available Shifts:
- Hiring PT & FT for all shifts. All shifts require rotating weekends.
