Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Import & Export Specialist for an Onsite position with a Global Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Solutions Organization located in Hawthorne, CA. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.
This role is focused on handling export shipments within a dynamic operations team. The ideal candidate will work with drivers and staff to manage efficient pickup and delivery schedules, ensuring the integrity of temperature-sensitive products through proper cold chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct shipment handling by verifying all attached paperwork
- Prepare Master Air Waybills for shipment and manage bookings
- File SED for required shipments
- Monitor shipment notes and reply to requests in a timely manner
- Manage inventory of packaging and gel packs, ensuring they are pre-conditioned and stored correctly
- Monitor shipment manifests, flight monitors, and dispatch screens
- Replenish all shipments pending export
- Coordinate and maintain the airport dispatch board, highlighting special delivery instructions
- Monitor drivers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
- Maintain cold chain for all shipments on FDA hold
- Report all complaints and issues to management immediately
Requirements:
- Background in import/export operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift between 25–70 lbs
- Professional demeanor and a sense of urgency
- Full understanding of the importance of Cold Chain Management
- General knowledge of the airport and tri-state area
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Proficiency in required internal logistics systems
Desired skills:
- Air Import/Export experience with airways bills
- Cold chain logistics experience is ideal
Pay range: up to $23.00 per hour
