Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, fostering positive customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with property management software, and a solid understanding of legal and administrative procedures related to leasing. The Leasing Agent plays a vital role in maintaining occupancy rates and providing exceptional service to prospective and current tenants.
Duties
- Conduct property tours and present available units to prospective tenants
- Manage lease applications, including screening, processing, and approval in accordance with Fair Housing regulations
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities using Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management systems
- Negotiate lease terms and contracts while ensuring compliance with legal standards such as landlord-tenant law and Section 8 regulations
- Assist tenants with inquiries related to rent payments, maintenance requests, and lease renewals
- Uphold customer service standards through effective phone etiquette and conflict management skills
- Upsell additional property services or amenities to prospective tenants to maximize occupancy and revenue
- Ensure all leasing documentation is properly filed, entered into data management systems, and maintained for audit purposes
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate property upkeep and address facilities management needs
- Stay informed about Fair Housing laws, LIHTC requirements, and other relevant legal administrative guidelines
Experience
- One year of experience in property leasing or real estate administrative roles required
- Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing, and Fair Housing regulations is highly desirable
- Experience with Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software systems such as CMMS or Office experience is advantageous
- Strong customer service background with excellent negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Legal administrative experience related to contracts, landlord-tenant law, or facilities management is a plus
- Proven ability in data entry, filing, and maintaining detailed records within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated success in sales or upselling within a property management or real estate setting is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer relationship management expertise
Pay: $25.00 per hour
