Electrical Engineer - 6 months - Renote with travel
Motor Control & Power Distribution Panel Design
Ideally based in KY but open to anywhere in Central or East Coast
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing team designing motor control panels and power distribution systems for industrial automation projects.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can take a design through from concept to compliant, manufacturable electrical documentation - and who's comfortable working to the relevant codes and standards without needing everything spelled out.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Designing motor control panels for industrial automation systems
- Selecting electrical components and parts based on design requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Performing power calculations for motor control panels and power distribution panels
- Conducting fault current calculations and determining SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rating) compliance
- Developing and maintaining libraries of electrical symbols and interactive blocks in AutoCAD
- Producing electrical schematics, panel layouts and supporting documentation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Demonstrated experience designing motor control panels
- Ability to select electrical parts based on design requirements and component specifications
- Experience performing power calculations for motor control and power distribution panels
- Experience with fault current calculations and SCCR rating determination
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, including building or maintaining custom symbol libraries
- Familiarity with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL508A standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on technical design work
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
