Responsibilities (NOT ACCEPTING SPRINTER CARGO VANS) ACCEPTING SEMI TRUCKS, FLATBEDS, HOTSHOT,POWER ONLY,GOOSENECK, REEFERS ONLY
- Operate tractor-trailers across extensive routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight to various destinations
- Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Manage route driving, including planning optimal routes for fuel efficiency and timely deliveries
- Handle different types of freight, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues on the road
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on long-haul routes (OTR experience preferred)
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks with proficiency in handling various trailer types such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, or roll-off trucks
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations
- Ability to drive safely under different weather conditions while maintaining focus on road safety
- Familiarity with route planning software and GPS navigation tools for efficient deliveries
- Experience with commercial driving regulations and compliance standards set by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Capable of operating auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo
