Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of industrial spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain high standards of sanitation in manufacturing and food processing areas, adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety guidelines
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly during all cleaning tasks to ensure safety
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual cleaning tasks as required for janitorial and custodial responsibilities
- Follow detailed cleaning checklists to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards
- Document cleaning activities accurately and report any safety concerns or maintenance needs
Skills
- Proven experience in industrial cleaning, commercial cleaning, or custodial roles
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling and chemical safety procedures
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards, GMP, and food safety protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently
- Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and maintaining logs
- Familiarity with the use of PPE and respiratory protection equipment
- Excellent adherence to safety protocols and chemical handling safety procedures
