Position Summary
PSS is seeking an experienced Project Manager – DSA Closeout & Project Recovery to oversee multiple active DSA certification and project recovery assignments throughout California.
This is not a production architecture or design role. Instead, you'll leverage your expertise in construction documents, DSA regulations, consultant coordination, and project management to investigate issues, recover missing documentation, resolve compliance challenges, and successfully achieve DSA certification.

What You'll Do
- Manage 20–40 active DSA certification and project recovery projects simultaneously.
- Develop project schedules, milestones, and recovery strategies.
- Lead project meetings with school districts, architects, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and DSA representatives.
- Track project status, deadlines, risks, and deliverables.
- Provide exceptional client communication and project updates.
- Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil construction documents.
- Analyze as-built drawings, specifications, DSA-approved plans, inspector reports, deferred approvals, and field documentation.
- Investigate missing project documentation and develop practical solutions for project certification.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, testing laboratories, inspectors, contractors, and public agencies.
- Review Change Orders, CCDs, RFIs, ASIs, Submittals, Field Directives, Punch Lists, and Record Documents.
- Ensure compliance with California DSA regulations and certification requirements.
- Build trusted relationships with clients while successfully guiding projects through certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Architecture, Construction Management, Owner's Representation, DSA Consulting, or a related field.
- Experience with California K-12 or Community College construction projects.
- Working knowledge of California DSA processes and certification requirements.
- Experience reviewing construction documents and technical drawings.
- Experience coordinating architects, engineers, inspectors, and consultants.
- Experience reviewing Change Orders and Construction Change Documents (CCDs).
- Ability to interpret building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management abilities.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
