JOB Provide the public a well-maintained and well-operated county park system which consists of a campground, four County Parks and Four Canoe Landings. The position will manage park operations and staff and report directly to the Planning and Zoning Director. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Responsible for administering Park programs, policies, ordinance, and practices.

Works closely with Department Head for development of park O&M plans.

Works closely with Department Head for development of Park Dept Budget.

Apply for grants to improve park facilities.

Directly Supervises Park Staff.

Manage County Canoe Accesses.

Coordinate STS projects at the Parks.

Directs Park Staff in day-to-day operation

Works with park staff in operation of Lake Hanska campground.

Responsible for park operation, including opening, closing and monitoring the park.

Maintains hiking trails for the safety of the public.
-
Oversees and performs general new construction such as trails, docks, fences, signs, etc.

Performs equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
-
Provides customer service and public relations; enforces park rules.
-
Operate and maintaining lake aeration system including installing and maintaining warning signage.

Performs and oversees beach signage, roping, and monitoring for public safety.

Orders all supplies and materials necessary for the regular operation of the park and campground and keeps an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.

Manages special event planning and coordinates with event organizers when large groups use the park for picnicking or educational events.

Manages and performs park signs construction, posting, and maintenance.

Performs special project development, often with donated funds, such as erosion control projects on steep slopes or at shoreline.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Knowledge of park and campground maintenance and operations.

Knowledge and skill in operation, maintenance, and minor repairs of lawn maintenance and park operation equipment, including small and large engine repair and operation.

Knowledge of forestry maintenance.

Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and landscaping skills.

Ability to plan conservation resource practices in a way to preserve sensitive park resources.

Knowledge of aeration system operations.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral forms.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
-
Ability to work under limited supervision with general autonomy in determining how objectives are achieved.
Position is a Grade 7 with an entry hourly wage range of $28.43 to $31.87, DOQ.
