Senior Fire Protection Engineer | Ogden, UT
Nexeo Staffing is seeking a Senior-Level Fire Protection Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Ogden, UT. The ideal candidate will bring extensive fire protection engineering experience, including deep knowledge of fire protection systems, facility assessments, and compliance with fire protection program requirements. Responsibilities

Develop, refine, and implement fire protection documents and tools.

Assist in the development of fire protection program requirements.

Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the fire protection discipline.

Assess the implementation of and compliance with the Fire Protection Plan (FPP).

Identify and report deficiencies to management.

Review and maintain an understanding of facility Fire Hazard Analyses.

Maintain an understanding of facility fire protection features, process flow diagrams, system design descriptions, facility design descriptions, and documented safety analyses (DSAs).

Perform facility audits in accordance with the Fire Protection Facility Assessment Plan and periodically review Pre-Fire Response Plans.

Assist in the coordination of fire department familiarization tours.

Perform and record monthly facility fire protection inspections.

Maintain a functional understanding of inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.

Perform Hot Work Permit program oversight, audits, and evaluations.

Perform Technical Safety Requirements inspections of assigned facilities.

Provide backup support to fire protection staff to ensure implementation of the FPP.

Identify and implement actions to improve and correct deficiencies in the implementation of the FPP.

Assist in identifying and clarifying fire protection attributes during planning processes to ensure compliance with FPP requirements.

Assist in the development and approval of compensatory actions for fire system impairments.

Arrange for and/or perform presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal communications.

Oversee field activities through inspections, testing, and equipment operations.
Qualifications
-
Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana use.

6+ years of fire protection experience.

Experience designing fire protection systems within unique or large facilities (non-residential).

QFPE (Qualified Fire Protection Engineer) licensure required.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Fire Protection.
- Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with the ability to stamp fire protection system designs.
Pay
$150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
Schedule
Full Time | 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
