American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center's Medical ICU, requiring a CT or compact RN license, 2 years of ICU experience, and Epic proficiency.

Work in a 10-bed Medical ICU (MICU) within a short-term acute care hospital

Level II Trauma Center setting
-
Facility has 426 total staffed beds
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Floating required as needed
-
Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available

Active CT RN license or compact license required
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience)

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (NIHSS preferred)

Epic charting experience required
-
Skilled in IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, and arterial line management
-
Experience with ventilated patient care, HFNC, and ETT/NT suctioning
-
Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
-
Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, and emergency medication administration
-
Skilled in CVP monitoring and pre/post cardiac cath/intervention care
-
Experience with IV insulin protocols and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
1 professional reference required for consideration

Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
-
COVID vaccine and booster required (religious/medical exemptions only)

Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients
-
Support includes access to specialized cardiac equipment such as Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), skills with these are preferred
-
Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital site

Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
-
Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
-
Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
