American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a day shift travel contract at a specialty hospital in Bakersfield, CA, requiring recent Epic experience and a minimum of 3 years of OR experience.

Work setting is a 47-bed specialty hospital with three operating rooms and four cardiac catheterization labs

Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Epic EMR is used; recent experience within the last 12 months is required

Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)

Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required

Recent clinical experience in OR within the last 3 months required

Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months required

BSN preferred
-
Active, unrestricted license with no prior hits required

Two supervisor references required: one from within the past year and one from within the past two years

Specialty-specific skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration

Delivers coordinated nursing care according to established standards, utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment

Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective care

Participates in discharge planning to promote continuity of care and delegates duties to healthcare team members as appropriate

Local candidates are welcome — no radius rule applies and local rates are the same as travel rates

RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for this contract

Candidates may only be submitted to one hospital within the Adventist Health system at a time
