American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with burn unit experience for an acute care hospital assignment in New Orleans, LA, working day shifts with weekend availability required.

Acute care hospital setting in a specialized burn unit
-
Patient population consists of burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns requiring PT for mobility, positioning, pain management, and contracture/scarring prevention
-
Daily patient load of up to 8 patients, with census ranging from as few as 2 during warmer months to 8 during cooler months

Opportunity to assist with outpatient PT evaluations and therapy when inpatient census allows

Floating within the inpatient setting is required

Facility will consider both PT and OT candidates for this role

Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)

Weekend coverage required every weekend, plus one variable weekday shift per week

Epic EMR used; experience required

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required

Active Louisiana PT license required if applicable

Epic EMR experience required

Experience or comfort working with complex wound care patients, surgical dressings, and pain-limiting conditions preferred

Must be available to work every weekend

Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Work history gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explained

Primary responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of burn patients, with a strong focus on mobility, positioning, and prevention of contractures and scarring
-
Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
-
Any former permanent employee of an LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment

Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested for this assignment
