SAI is seeking a Highway/Traffic Project Engineer to work with key staff in our Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh Offices on signature projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), and local municipalities.
Responsibilities
Leading a design team in developing roadway and traffic improvements for highway and
bridge projects, including coordinating design elements over multiple disciplines.
Planning, coordinating, and monitoring project team budgets, schedules/progress, and
quality.
Reviewing and sealing plans, specifications, and estimates for contract bidding as
Engineer of Record
Completing designated assignments and reporting progress to project managers
Mentoring, reviewing, and checking work of junior staff
Performing field views and attending project meetings
Participating in proposal development, project scoping, and project staffing projections
Working collaboratively with team members, consultants, and our clients
Attending professional organization meetings and events to build relationships and
assist with business development

Qualifications
4 to 12 years of direct experience in the design of PennDOT and/or PTC transportation
projects
BS or MS in Civil Engineering
PE license or ability to obtain PE license within 1 year; PTOE preferred
Microstation and OpenRoads Designer experience
Strong work ethic
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
