Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
- Manage medication inventory, including stock intake, restocking shelves, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Support patient care by providing medication information, answering questions, and ensuring timely medication administration under supervision.
- Perform medication reconciliation and verify prescriptions using medical terminology to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Maintain precise documentation of medication dispensing, patient records, and inventory logs in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medication delivery for acute care and critical care patients.
- Uphold safety protocols related to aseptic technique and infection control to prevent contamination during medication preparation.
Requirements
- Pharmacy technician license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience in an independent pharmacy.
- Working Knowledge of PrimeRx preferrable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate patient care and communication.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
