The Coating Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring surface preparation and coating applications meet customer specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements while supporting safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect surface preparation, environmental conditions, and coating application processes to verify compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

Perform and document coating inspections, including wet film thickness, dry film thickness, adhesion testing, holiday testing, and final visual inspections.

Review coating specifications, technical data sheets, inspection requirements, and customer documentation to ensure compliance throughout the coating process.

Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances while supporting corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work closely with production personnel, quality teams, customers, and third-party inspectors to maintain coating quality and project requirements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications

Experience in coating inspection, industrial painting, quality inspection, or quality control within a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environment.

Strong understanding of coating systems, surface preparation methods, coating application processes, and inspection techniques.

Ability to perform detailed inspections and maintain accurate records, reports, and quality documentation.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

Nice to have: AMPP (formerly NACE) certification, SSPC training, familiarity with ASTM standards, experience with industrial coatings, blasting operations, or corrosion protection systems.
