Job Overview
We are seeking outgoing and enthusiastic individuals to join our team to help gather signatures for Colorado ballot initiatives. In this role, you will engage voters in public spaces and collect valid signatures in support of various ballot initiative campaigns.
This position is ideal for those who enjoy independent work, public interaction, and raising awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with the public to collect signatures for petitions
- Clearly explain the purpose of the initiatives and answer basic questions
- Ensure each signature is valid, legible, and properly witnessed
- Set up at high-traffic outdoor locations to maximize visibility
- Follow all state laws and campaign guidelines for ethical signature gathering
- Collaborate with teammates to improve outreach strategies
- Report progress as required
- Provide friendly and professional communication with signers
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a US citizen (required for political petitioning in Colorado)
- Comfortable engaging with the public and working outdoors
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently
- Prior experience in canvassing, signature gathering, or outreach is helpful but not required
- Strong communication and persuasion skills
- Willingness to work in various environments
- Passion for civic engagement and public policy is a strong asset
- Some campaigns may require a background check prior to assignment
- Travel and lodging assistance is not provided — applicants must be local or able to arrange their own housing and transportation
Pay
This is a commission-based position, paid per valid signature collected.
$3 per valid signature on statewide petitions.
Many circulators earn approximately $60–$100+ per hour equivalent in average conditions, with higher earnings possible in strong high-traffic locations.
Training
Brief pre-start online training is required and unpaid (followed by onboarding before work begins). It covers signature collection rules, ethical guidelines, and best practices for petition circulation.
