Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Facility Technician to join our team. This role performs a variety of general custodial and maintenance duties on all buildings and grounds to maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive physical environment at the church to host a variety of activities.
Schedule
Flexible hours. Minimum of 20 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours.
Responsibilities
- Ensure completion of all custodial needs based on facility use. (such as: Empty and clean waste and recycling receptacles. Clean and disinfect restrooms. Re-stock restroom paper products. Vacuum carpeting. Dust furniture, ledges, and dust for cobwebs. Mop floors. Spot clean carpet. Select proper chemicals and proper dilutions. Wash walls where needed. Wash glass entry doors. Check and set all thermostat levels. Keep custodial storage and work area clean at all times. Clean and straighten auditorium, platform, hallways, foyer, classrooms, multipurpose rooms, and offices.)
- Work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively to coordinate maintenance and custodial tasks with all ministries of the church.
- Complete a walk-through prior to Sunday morning services to ensure the building is clean, tidy, and set up for services and activities.
- Room set-ups/take-downs. Setting up tables and chairs for events and classes.
- Ensure regular maintenance of vehicles is kept up.
- Schedule preventative maintenance needs and be here to help while an outside service is on-site.
- Purchase maintenance and custodial supplies.
- Responsible for coordinating with staff to keep all general storage areas organized and clean and assist in solving storage problems.
- General maintenance of buildings.
- Set alarm system and is on the call list if the security or fire alarms go off.
- Complete Oregon Drinking Water Services training and testing as required.
- Assemble/repair and maintain office and classroom furnishing including carts, tables, dry erase boards, bulletin boards, etc. if requested and as time allows.
- Other duties or responsibilities may be added, or existing ones changed as the needs of the church change.

Working Environment
This is an active role that involves being on one’s feet for most of the shift and moving around different buildings. To perform this job, you will need to be comfortable with:
- Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching (below, at, and above shoulder level), balancing, and climbing ladders or step stools
- Pushing, pulling, and handling materials and equipment
- Using hands and fingers for detailed tasks
- Talking, hearing, and using vision (near, far, peripheral, and depth perception)

- Regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds
- Frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour
