GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Pipe Foreman to work in Charlotte, NC. The pay rate is $35.00 per hour plus a $100/day per diem. Candidates must be willing to travel for work and be available for overtime and weekend work as project demands require.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman to join our growing field operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ductile iron pipe and fittings (not sewer or drain pipe), underground and above-ground piping systems, and the ability to lead pipe crews on complex infrastructure projects. Experience in form carpentry and concrete work and/or small mechanical installation is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise pipe crews in the installation of ductile iron, PVC, flanged, and steel piping systems.
- Install and assemble ductile iron pipe and fittings in accordance with project specifications.
- Perform or assist with form carpentry and concrete work related to pipe installation as needed.
- Assist with small mechanical installation and related field activities when required.
- Ensure trench and excavation work meets safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate daily tasks and manage crew assignments to meet project timelines.
- Prepare and maintain accurate daily reports and job logs.
- Oversee work around existing underground utilities to avoid conflicts or service disruptions.
- Assist with planning and sequencing pipe installations and site activities.
- Collaborate with superintendents and project managers to ensure efficient workflow.
- Always maintain a clean and safe worksite environment.
- May be assigned other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead Man on piping crews.
- Extensive experience installing ductile iron pipe and fittings (experience with sewer or drain pipe alone does not qualify).
- Experience with form carpentry and concrete work and/or small mechanical installation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction documents, and specifications.
- Certified or trained in excavation and trench safety.
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews safely and productively.
- Experience working around underground utilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be willing to travel for work.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
