Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent guest relations skills, have flexible schedule, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fine dining restaurant setting. Prior experience with POS systems and food handling is preferred, along with a strong focus on hospitality and guest service excellence. Restaurant management and experience with Italian cuisine are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards, ability to lift / deliver food
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables for new guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using POS systems
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and dietary options to answer guest inquiries effectively
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
- Organizing dining room set-up, running side work and closing duties.
- Have an extensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and wine list, including daily specials
- Assist in scheduling, planning, developing menu and event specials.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments
- Proficiency with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and guest relations
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Basic math skills for billing, cash handling, and making change accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; nightclub or bar service experience is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- BASSET Certified (or able to obtain certification)
- ServSafe Certified (or able to obtain certification)
