Job Overview
Agnitron Technology is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to support the execution of semiconductor process equipment projects. This role combines mechanical engineering, project coordination, vendor follow-up, purchasing support, and team lead management. The Mechanical Engineering Manager will help ensure that projects move efficiently from design through procurement, assembly, testing, and customer delivery.
This position will lead a small team of mechanical designers while working closely with process engineers, software engineers, production, purchasing, vendors, and company management. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, is highly organized, communicates clearly, and enjoys keeping complex technical projects moving forward.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and review technical documentation for semiconductor growth systems, reactor upgrades, gas delivery systems, and custom semiconductor equipment.
- Delegate tasks to a team of engineers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Support and organize internal design reviews.
- Track open engineering items, identify schedule risks, missing parts, design gaps, and vendor delays by project
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes and resolve technical questions to create orders for purchasing.
- Maintain project documentation, task lists, and status updates.
- Communicate project progress and issues clearly to management.
- Manage customer relationships and support relevant technical questions.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, design review practices, purchasing handoffs, and project tracking methods
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or technical project coordination.
- At least 1+ years’ experience reading and reviewing mechanical drawings, CAD models, BOMs, vendor quotes, and technical specifications.
- 1+ years managing an engineering team in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active projects and open tasks at the same time.
- Ability to follow up consistently and keep projects moving without needing constant direction.
- Mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or project engineering experience.
- Experience with custom equipment, vacuum systems, semiconductor tools, industrial machinery, or precision mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or technical project coordination preferred.
- Mechanical engineering or mechanical design background in MOCVD semiconductor systems, custom equipment, vacuum systems, semiconductor tools, industrial systems, or related precision mechanical assemblies.
- Equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical design, project engineering, or custom equipment manufacturing will also be considered.
- Experience with SolidWorks is preferred
- Familiarity with stainless steel fabrication, machined parts, welded assemblies, gas delivery hardware, vacuum components, O-ring seals, heaters, cooling systems, or precision mechanical interfaces is a plus.
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field preferred.

- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds daily.
