Position Overview
The Center Director is responsible for the smooth, compliant, and financially sound operation of the center.
He/she will oversee daily management of the (Confidential )day care /Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for children while leading and supporting a team of educators and staff. This role oversees classroom operations, curriculum management,
staff performance, enrollment management, parent communication, compliance with state regulations, and overall campus performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Teacher & Classroom Management
- Supervise and support teachers in curriculum implementation, classroom setup, and daily schedules.
- Provide coaching and strategies for behavior management and child development.
- Monitor classroom ratios and staffing coverage to ensure compliance.
- Conduct daily audits/Gemba walks to monitor classroom standards, safety, and cleanliness.
- Track and close deviations in a timely manner while mentoring staff on corrective actions.
Parent Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding daily updates, concerns, and communications.
- Maintain consistent, professional communication to ensure parents feel informed and supported.
- Collaborate with staff on resolving complex family or child-related concerns.
Center Operations & Compliance
- Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and operational standards (e.g., 5S, Gemba walks (QA), ITERS/ETERS, problem-solving, complaint management).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all state and local childcare licensing requirements.
- Oversee adherence to CACFP requirements, including timely documentation and reimbursement processes.
- Conduct regular safety audits of classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas; manage deviations and corrective actions.
- Produce and maintain documentation for licensing audits and regulatory inspections.-
Staff Oversight & Development
- Manage staff performance through coaching, mentoring, evaluations, and, when necessary, corrective action in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Ensure staff adherence to policies, procedures, and curriculum standards.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and professional development training for new and existing staff.
Regularly review center procedures to enhance efficiency, compliance, and the child/staff experience.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure smooth day-to-day classroom and center operations, including teacher scheduling, coverage, and staff utilization.
- Oversee planning and execution of special events, program initiatives, and milestone activities.
Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure accurate child documentation, behavioral reports, and activity logs are maintained in Brightwheel or other platforms.
- Report trends, successes, and concerns to executive management to support program improvement.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking to ensure the center operates within approved guidelines.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee expense control, billing, collections, and family subsidy programs (CCAP, CCA, self-pay).
- Ensure payroll data and staff timekeeping records are accurate and submitted to the payroll provider on schedule.
- Monitor expenditures and support cost-control initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Level 6 or above and Large Center Director Qualification in PDIS
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and motivate staff teams.
- Solid understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must maintain all required certifications and training as mandated by the State of Colorado.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Brightwheel or similar platforms

Pay: $49,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
