We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and customer-focused Lighting Sales Representative to manage and grow our business throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. This position is responsible for developing strong relationships with electrical distributors, electrical counters, and lighting showrooms while increasing product awareness and sales through in-person visits, merchandising, product training, and promotional activities.
The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, traveling throughout the territory, and building lasting partnerships with distributor personnel, contractors, and showroom staff.
The successful Lighting Sales Representative will be highly visible throughout the territory, consistently visiting customers, promoting new products, maintaining attractive showroom displays, supporting distributor sales efforts, and serving as a trusted resource for electrical counters and lighting showrooms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, relationship-building, and driving sales growth through exceptional customer service and hands-on market support.
- Travel extensively throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine to visit electrical distributors, counters, and lighting showrooms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor management, counter personnel, showroom consultants, and sales teams.
- Present new products, promotions, and marketing initiatives to customers.
- Install, maintain, and refresh showroom displays, merchandising materials, and product samples.
- Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers on product features, benefits, and applications.
- Organize and participate in Counter Days, customer appreciation events, and distributor promotions.
- Represent the company at regional trade shows, industry events, and manufacturer showcases.
- Identify sales opportunities and assist distributors in expanding product offerings.
- Work closely with distributor sales teams to generate new business and increase market share.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide market feedback to management.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales activities, and territory performance using CRM software.
- Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to support territory growth and customer success.
Qualifications
- Previous outside sales experience preferred, ideally within the electrical, lighting, construction, or building products industry.
- Knowledge of residential, commercial, or decorative lighting products is a plus.
- Experience working with electrical distributors or lighting showrooms is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable with overnight travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
