Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately according to drug dosages and formulary guidelines
- Support patient interactions by providing medication information and answering basic health-related questions under supervision
- Participate in pharmaceutical calculations to ensure correct drug preparation and administration
- Help maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, including drug regulation standards and vaccination protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans, including immunizations and vaccination administration
- Contribute to community pharmacy operations by managing inventory, maintaining patient confidentiality, and ensuring regulatory documentation is complete
- Support patient service initiatives by assisting with medication counseling, immunizations, and health screenings
Experience
- Prior clinical pharmacy experience or internships in hospital or community pharmacy settings is preferred but not required
- Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation, and medical terminology
- Experience with immunizations, vaccine administration, and understanding of drug dosages
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams
- Knowledge of formulary management and state and federal pharmacy laws
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality
