Pharmacy Technician -- Medical Records and Order Entry

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient files
- Respond to requests for medical records
- Assist with troubleshooting questions regarding the electronic medication administration record (MAR) and paper MAR
- Updates all necessary changes to the MAR
- Create and maintain patient files for long term care facilities by initiating records for new patients and appropriately filing data
- Ensure proper follow up is given to inquiries from facilities
- Review all new orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Process discharge and admissions documents
- Assist Order Entry department, when needed
- Prints monthly paper MARs
- Input prescriptions for residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities
- Ensure proper follow up is given to inquiries from facilities
- Review all new orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Process discharge and admissions documents
- Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy database to assist with proper billing
- Maintain facility communication logs
- Participate in special projects, when needed
Qualifications:
· Must hold an active technician registration by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
· PTCB Certification (Preferred)
Experience:
- 3 Years Pharmacy Experience required
- Experience in Long Term Care Pharmacy preferred
- Preferred experience with cycle fill
Requirements:
· Well-versed in customer service and be able to build customer relationships
· Detail-oriented
· Reliable
