Join Our Growing Orthotics & Prosthetics Team!
We are seeking a motivated, dependable Hospital Orthotics & Prosthetics Fitter to join our team and provide high-quality orthotic and prosthetic care to patients in hospital and acute-care settings.
The Role
As a Hospital Fitter, you will work directly with physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, and our certified practitioners to provide and fit a variety of orthotic and prosthetic devices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and wants to make a meaningful difference in patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Respond to hospital referrals and patient needs in a timely manner
- Measure, fit, and deliver prefabricated orthotic and prosthetic devices
- Assist with fitting walking boots, knee braces, spinal orthoses, cervical collars, AFOs, postoperative shoes, and other devices
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper application, use, wear schedules, and care
- Perform basic adjustments to ensure proper fit, comfort, and function
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and certified practitioners
- Complete required clinical and delivery documentation
- Follow Medicare, hospital, company, and patient-safety requirements
- Maintain inventory and ensure equipment is properly stocked and ready for hospital use
- Recognize when a patient's needs require evaluation or intervention by a certified orthotist/prosthetist
What We're Looking For
- Experience in orthotics, prosthetics, DME, rehabilitation, nursing, physical therapy, or a related healthcare field preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a hospital environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to prioritize multiple hospital requests in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and develop clinical and technical skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- clean background check is required
- Shifts will vary from daytime to evening hours
O&P experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
