Description:
MPower Dance Company is a competitive and recreational dance studio in the Hamilton area that is getting ready to embark on our 7th season. We are looking to expand our staff to better provide a variety in teaching styles and offer a wider range of available classes.
We are seeking instructors for both our recreational and competition programs. Instructors will oversee the growth and execution of classes ranging from all styles of dance as well as technique. Instructors will help in setting choreography and providing instruction to all ages and levels of dancers. The ideal candidate must have experience in a variety of styles and an professional background working with children ranging 3-18 years in age. This person will assist the studio Directors with coordinating and planning our annual Winter and Spring Recitals.
Responsibilites:
- Prepare proper curriculum for beginner to advanced level dancers
- Complete assessments for each dancer to ensure proper class placement
- Enforce dress code as outlined in the dancers' policies and procedures
- Assist in the coordination and execution of both Winter and Spring Recitals.
- Clear communication with staff and families if needed
- Prepare dancers for stage performance twice a year
- Assist in Costume selection in a timely manner for stage performances (if applicable)
- Work alongside Studio Directors to build transitional curriculum for Performance dancers who want to shift into the Company program.
- Proper classroom management
- Proper time management
