Ayaresa Therapy LLC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and eager-to-learn MSW Intern to join our fully remote private practice. This is a hands-on opportunity for a social work student who wants to learn not only about clinical practice, but also the business, administrative, client-facing, and operational side of running a private practice.

Ayaresa Therapy LLC is a virtual mental health practice specializing in working with Black women and children, BIPOC individuals, and LGBTQ+ communities. Our mission is to provide culturally responsive, affirming, and trauma-informed care.
What You'll Do
As an MSW Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the many moving parts involved in operating a private practice. Responsibilities may include:
- Communicating with prospective clients about services and next steps
- Speaking with prospective clients and scheduling them with appropriate clinicians
- Following up with potential clients who have not yet scheduled
- Assisting with client intake and onboarding
- Sending and managing invoices
- Contacting insurance companies when needed
- Assisting with insurance and billing-related tasks
- Helping with scheduling and administrative duties
- Creating and organizing community mental health resources
- Assisting with marketing, outreach, and practice growth
- Supporting social media and other marketing projects
- Learning the systems and processes used to operate a virtual private practice
- Assisting with special projects and other day-to-day practice operations
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in an MSW program
- Customer service experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating with prospective clients by phone and electronically
- Professional, dependable, and organized
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to learn new systems and technology
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately
- Strong attention to detail
- Genuine interest in mental health and private practice
You do not need prior private practice experience. We are looking for an MSW student who is curious, proactive, willing to learn, and comfortable asking questions.
