Justin Dille Construction is looking for an experienced Residential Carpenter to join our field team. We need someone who can produce high-quality work, think ahead, and efficiently complete assigned work independently.
JDC is a local, veteran-owned residential general contracting company serving Truckee and North Tahoe. Our work includes high-end renovations and remodels, additions, custom cabinetry, finish carpentry, project planning, and other residential construction. We are building a long-term field team around craftsmanship, professionalism, organization, and accountability.
Hourly pay is based on demonstrated skills, productivity, independence, judgment, quality of work, and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Typical Work:
- Selective demolition and jobsite preparation
- Rough framing, blocking, and structural carpentry
- Insulation
- Window and exterior-door installation
- Interior door installation
- Cabinet installation
- Baseboard, casing, and finish trim
- Finish carpentry and detailed punch work
- Hardware, accessories and appliance installation
- Material organization and coordination with specialty subcontractors
You Should Be Able To:
- Accurately read a tape measure and perform residential layout
- Understand level, plumb, square, and proper installation practices
- Safely and efficiently operate common construction tools
- Read and work from plans, drawings, scopes and task lists
- Perform quality rough and finish carpentry
- Complete defined scopes independently after receiving clear direction
- Identify conflicts, missing information, and material needs before they become delays
- Ask questions when something is unclear
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
- Work effectively with homeowners, coworkers, and subcontractors
Requirements:
- Previous residential construction/carpentry experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Reliable transportation to projects throughout Truckee and North Tahoe
- Ability to perform physical construction work and safely lift/carry typical materials and tools
- Professional conduct in clients' homes
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Commitment to safe work practices
Experience with cabinetry, finish carpentry, interior doors, trim, windows, and residential remodeling is especially valuable.
Compensation, Benefits & Advancement:
- $30-$40/hour, depending on experience
- Weekly pay by direct deposit
- 90-day probationary period followed by a performance review
- Annual performance and wage reviews; raises are performance- and experience-based and are not automatic
- Onsite training and resources for professional growth
- Employer-paid accident insurance after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
- Health insurance available after 90 days for employees working 35+ hours/week; JDC contributes 50% of the monthly premium

At JDC, $40/hour represents more than technical skill. The upper end of the range is intended for a carpenter who combines finish-quality work with productivity, sound judgment, problem-solving, dependable execution, and the ability to own assigned scopes with minimal supervision.
