Duties
- Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment tailored to infants and toddlers’ developmental needs
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and caregivers, promoting best practices in child supervision and classroom management
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support early childhood education standards and individual child interests
- Maintain accurate documentation of each child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones in compliance with mandated reporting laws
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's development, routines, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid, CPR certification, and proper sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive strategies that support children with disabilities or special needs
Skills
- Proven experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in daycare or classroom settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education best practices
- Current certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid; additional training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while maintaining a positive environment
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being
- Experience in classroom management, behavior guidance strategies, and implementing developmental activities for young children
