Join a 6-time Top Workplace winner and third-generation, family-owned commercial plumbing contractor. Neptune is hiring a Project Engineer to support our estimating and project management team, with a clear path to growing into a full Estimator/Project Manager role.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay, based on experience
- Health insurance
- 401(k)
- Profit sharing
- Vehicle allowance
- Company phone
- Hands-on training and a real growth path within a stable, well-established local company
About the Role
You'll work directly alongside Estimators/Project Managers, splitting your time between the office and the field. You'll start by supporting estimates, take-offs, and project documentation, and take on more independent responsibility on smaller jobs as you build experience. This is a great fit for someone who wants to build a long-term career in commercial plumbing estimating and project management, not just fill a temporary support role.
What You'll Do
- Assist with plumbing estimates on service, remodel, special project, and smaller construction jobs
- Support project management tasks including change orders, documentation, and scheduling coordination
- Join site visits alongside senior team members to learn how projects are scoped and executed in the field
- Help prepare and organize scope proposals and project paperwork
- Communicate with contractors and clients under the guidance of the senior Estimators/PMs you support
- Assist with material and equipment procurement tracking
- Take on increasing project ownership as you demonstrate readiness
What You Bring
- Open to candidates with 0-5 years of experience; we'll train the right person
- Interest in plumbing, mechanical systems, or commercial construction (formal experience a plus, not required)
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite
- Willingness to learn industry-specific software and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
- Self-motivated with a genuine interest in growing into a project management or estimating career
- Clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications a plus
Schedule
Full-time, exempt, first shift, generally Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines. Work is split between office/computer time and field site visits.
