Position Summary
The Functional Analyst II independently analyzes military, government, and business operations to support strategic planning, capability development, and resource allocation. This position applies advanced analytical techniques, modeling methodologies, and data management expertise to develop actionable recommendations for government stakeholders while mentoring junior analysts and serving as a trusted technical resource.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex operational activities affecting military and government missions.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop recommendations supporting doctrine, force structure, capability development, and PPBE initiatives.
- Lead data collection, validation, and integration efforts across multiple systems.
- Design and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts for large datasets.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes supporting analytical workflows.
- Create dashboards and executive reporting using Power BI or Qlik.
- Collaborate directly with DoD customers to define analytical requirements.
- Develop methodologies for data analysis, reporting, and performance measurement.
- Support modeling and simulation-based decision support applications.
- Mentor junior analysts and review analytical deliverables.
- Present findings and recommendations to government leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4–6 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Military operations or operations research
- Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
- Force or capability development
- Intelligence collection and analysis
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Access
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- SQL
- Python
- Experience building and supporting ETL processes.
- Experience working with large enterprise datasets.
- Experience creating dashboards using Power BI or Qlik.
- Minimum of 4 years supporting DoD stakeholders with complex data collection, management, and analysis.
- Strong client-facing communication skills.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
