Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to detail, consistency, and presentation.
- Lead kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to food safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste through efficient food preparation practices.
- Ensure all food served meets quality standards and complies with dietary guidelines and safety regulations.
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong foundation in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage kitchen staff effectively during busy shifts.
- Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and presentation that appeals to diverse tastes.
- Background in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent knife skills combined with proficiency in meal preparation and food industry standards.
- Knowledge of dietary department protocols and dietary aide experience is a plus.
