Experienced Line Cook
Pay: $15–$18 per hour, based on experience
Lula Perl Café is seeking an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. We are a fast-paced, scratch kitchen focused on thoughtfully prepared food, locally sourced ingredients, seasonal menus and rotating daily specials.
Lula Perl currently serves breakfast, lunch and Saturday brunch, and we are expanding our hours to include dinner service a few nights each week. Team members may also have opportunities to work catered events and our reservation-only Supper Club, which features an elevated, seasonally inspired dining experience.
The right candidate will be dependable, organized and comfortable adapting to an evolving menu based on the season and the availability of local products. You should be able to work efficiently during busy services, maintain consistency and presentation, and communicate respectfully with the entire team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to Lula Perl’s recipes and standards
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized station
- Work efficiently and accurately during fast-paced service
- Follow proper food-safety, sanitation and storage procedures
- Maintain consistency in preparation, portioning and plate presentation
- Assist with prep, rotating daily specials and seasonal menu changes
- Communicate clearly and work cooperatively with the kitchen team
- Complete opening, closing and assigned kitchen duties
- Assist with catered events, Supper Club and expanded dinner service as scheduled
Qualifications
- Previous professional line-cook or scratch-kitchen experience is required
- Saturday availability is required
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
- Punctuality is essential. Team members must arrive on time and ready to work
- Professional, respectful communication with coworkers and management
- Ability to remain composed and productive during busy service
- Strong understanding of kitchen organization and mise en place
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback and adapt quickly
- Pride in producing high-quality food for our guests
This position offers a primarily daytime schedule, with opportunities for evening hours through dinner service, catered events and Supper Club. Pay ranges from $15 to $18 per hour and will be determined by experience, skill level and performance.
