Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing
- Take dental x-rays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructions
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical history as necessary
- Utilize dental practice management systems such as Dentrix, Epic, or Eaglesoft to schedule appointments and manage patient information
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
Skills:
- Valid dental hygiene license in [state]
- Proficient in using dental practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Epic, Eaglesoft)
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Strong clinical skills in performing dental hygiene procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Note: Experience with specific dental practice management systems (Dentrix, Epic, Eaglesoft) and knowledge of medical coding are important skills for this role.
Pay: $43.48 - $46.56 per hour
