2. Position Overview
As a Bartender at The Hermitage Hotel, you will deliver an elevated cocktail experience rooted in precision, creativity, and refined hospitality. Within our storied Beaux-Arts landmark—where Southern elegance meets contemporary sophistication—you transform each beverage into a curated expression of craftsmanship and connection. This role is both technical and theatrical, requiring grace under pressure, deep product knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Elevated Beverage Preparation & Execution
Craft cocktails and classics with expert technique, creativity, and visual precision—presenting each drink with intention and flair.
- Personalized Guest Engagement
Welcome each guest with presence and discretion, guiding selections based on individual tastes, seasonal offerings, and thoughtful pairings.
- Menu Mastery & Storytelling
Maintain fluency in all beverage offerings—spirits, cocktails, wines, zero-proof—and articulate the nuances of flavor, sourcing, and preparation with poise.
- Station Excellence & Mise en Place
Ensure the bar is meticulously maintained before, during, and after service—executing flawless mise en place, pristine garnishes, and polished presentation.
- Regulatory Stewardship & Guest Safety
Adhere strictly to all local and federal beverage service laws, including ID verification and responsible alcohol consumption policies, while safeguarding the guest experience.
- Integrated Service Support
Collaborate seamlessly with service team members, culinary staff, and leadership to maintain an uninterrupted, polished guest journey.
- Inventory & Resource Management
Assist with bar setup, restocking, and ongoing inventory management—ensuring freshness, proper storage, and efficient rotation of all products.
- Service Consistency & Brand Alignment
Exemplify the hotel’s brand voice and service philosophy with every gesture—subtle, gracious, and attentive to the unspoken.
4. Competency & Requirements
Required
- Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in luxury hotel bars or fine dining environments
- Expertise in classic cocktail construction, mixology techniques, and bar operations
- Current certifications in responsible alcohol service and food handling
- Proficiency in digital POS systems and ordering platforms
- Fluent in English; multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, Mandarin, Arabic) highly valued
- Must be 21 years of age or older with full schedule flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Extras
- Background in Michelin-rated or Forbes-recognized establishments
- Advanced mixology or spirits certifications (BarSmarts, USBG, WSET Spirits, etc.)
- Proficiency with sustainable or locally sourced beverage programs
- Expertise in low-ABV, non-alcoholic, or wellness-focused cocktail development
- Active membership in beverage associations (e.g., USBG, Tales of the Cocktail, etc.)

8. Compensation
